I'm Also On SemiAccurate Now (and a bit about Apple)

The good folks over at SemiAccurate have invited me to contribute there, and I've accepted.

I'm certainly not going to abandon this blog, although I'll admit there hasn't been much activity here recently. But posts on some of the types of topics I've covered here will appear there, instead; the theory is that this way they reach a wider audience. Posts with topics that are too far from S|A's area, as well as any longer than they're comfortable with, will still appear here.

I've gone live there already. So, if you would like to better understand why Apple charges 30% of revenue to iPad app developers and subscription services, take a look over there - or, to be more exact, right here. The topic isn't my usual stomping ground, but that had nothing to do with S|A; it's something that just occurred to me while reading some things about Apple's shenanigans.

I guess I can now add "web journalist" to my vita. I wonder when I get a press card to tuck jauntily into my hat band?

I have enjoyed reading your blog here for the last year or so, and I hope you keep writing. It doesn't seem like I am able to subscribe to just your articles at SemiAccurate, though. Am I missing something?

Thank you! And I certainly do intend to keep writing. Actually, a big part of the recent slowdown is that when I'm "alone" now, I'm actually watching two new puppies. Hard to concentrate. That should fix itself in a bit.

I've no idea whether you can subscribe to just one author's articles at S|A. I'll ask. The answer may be time-dependent; they're moving to a new system next week.

Being able to subscribe to just one author's article is now on the "nice to have" list for the new site support being rolled out right now. Not the answer I'd like, but more than nothing.

You can of course get an RSS feed for the whole site, and the rate at which articles appear isn't all that fast; so finding mine shouldn't be a hassle.

It would be nice if You could post links to semiacurate articles here (or on twitter).

I'll definitely be posting them on Twitter.

Here, well, depends on how it goes. If I have something else to say that didn't make it into the SemiAccurate article for some reason, I'll definitely post with a link.

But I'm not at this point ready to say I'll have a bunch of posts consisting of just a link.

How big the bunch would be, though, is to be determined. If just a few, I'll post links.
